Born in 1980 lives and works in Tel-Aviv, Israel. Liat Elbling Graduated with Honors the Departments of Photography at the Minshar School of Art in Tel-Aviv. Recipient of the Constantiner Prize for Israeli Photographer (2011) and Sotheby's Under The Hammer Prize at Fresh Paint art fair (2013). Elbling has had solo exhibitions at the Tel-Aviv Museum of Art, Haifa Museum of Art, Julie M Gallery, and she participated in numerous group exhibitions in Israel and abroad. Elbling is a member of the Tel-Aviv Visual Artists Association and lecturing at the Musrara School of Photography, and at the Department of MultiDisciplinary Art Shenker College.
Elbling is among the most original voices in today's local photography scene. she has an exceptionally developed aesthetic sense, and in recent years, her exhibitions have displayed intense, astutely composed photographs that convey a deeply insightful conceptual outlook. Her photographs frequently place the medium of photography and the photographer herself in the witness stand, where this medium is explored and examined while the photographer is required to provide testimony.
